Pole - hung styles
Tab top - A simple yet sophisticated style for static curtains that don’t need to be opened or closed regularly, tab tops are hung on evenly spaced loops sewn onto the header.
Slot top
- Easy to maintain and perfect for static or net curtains. With slot top curtains, the curtain pole slides straight directly through the fabric.
Eyelet - Fixed through holes in the top border, eyelets create a wave-like effect and a soft, loose fold ideal for contemporary rooms. Eyelets come in different finishes to co-ordinate with your chosen fabrics.
Cartridge - Stitched into the top of the curtain, cartridges create structure and form for the ultimate in defined folds and are particularly recommended for large, bold patterns.
Track - hung styles
Pencil pleat - With pencil width gathers at the head of the curtain, this style is perfect for heavier fabrics. Tight gathers to form informal narrow pleats.
Pinch pleat - A sewn in double (sometimes triple) formal, pleat on the header allows the curtain to fall in deep folds and gives a fuller effect than pencil pleats.
Gathered - An affordable option requiring less fabric, gathered curtains have a relaxed, unstructured look as the heading tape can be tightened to your required width.
Wave - A simple, smooth and elegant way of hanging curtains to create deep folds, ideal for lighter fabrics.
Our Curtains are carefully crafted. Want to know more...?
We sew lead weights into the hems at the corners of our curtains, and sew seams to ensure they drape attractively.
We always use good quality heavyweight lining for its enduring, thermal benefits.
We interline lightweight, thin fabrics. It’s a more labour-intensive way of making curtains, and slightly more expensive, but it produces wonderful results as it makes the curtains fuller.
Our pinch pleats are uniform, and eyelets evenly spaced. This means your curtains will sit beautifully when they are open.
Our machine stitching lays flat: there’s no puckering on a Curtainly Elegant curtain! For added visual appeal, patterns are matched at the top of each pair.
Our hand stitching is small, neat and almost invisible.
Sounds expensive? Don’t worry – though lovingly and expertly crafted, your curtains will also be cost-effective and value for money.
